American Clocks, Volume 3 is a wonderful continuation of Tran Duy Ly's earlier American Clocks volumes. All 992 clocks shown are new to Tran Duy Ly's books. Divided into two sections, the first is Clocks by Type and covers mostly handcrafted and early American clocks including Beehive, Column & Cornice, Column & Splat, Cottage, Hollow Column, Mantle, Mirror, Ogee & Bevel, Pillar & Scroll, Steeple, Torsion Pendulum, and Wagon Spring Clocks.
Clocks made by the Ball Watch Company and The Lux Manufacturing Company comprise the second section. The Lux section is particularly impressive. There is enough material to have made a separate book. Its 118 pages include Lux's popular novelty clocks as well as their more traditional time pieces. A history of both companies is also provided.
American Clocks, Volume 3 is a new hardcover published in 2002 by Arlington Books. It is accompanied by a 2002 Price Guide booklet. American Clocks, Volume 3 has 993 illustrations on 352 pages. It has a quality Smyth-sewn binding with white gloss sheets.
