Privately published, Navarre by Fostoria fully explores every aspect of this popular Fostoria pattern. Produced by Fostoria from 1936 to 1982, and then for another 9 years by Lenox, the Navarre etching maintained popularity through much of the 20th century. The book starts out with a brief 6-page history of Fostoria and Navarre. It is followed by chapters of a broader them discussing glass and glassware in general. Creating Navarre in sixty steps provides you with the fascinating details on how your fine glassware came to be. All very interesting The heart of the book, though, is the glass and its shapes. There are 57 pages of photos of production items. Twenty-eight pages comprise of catalogue reprints. Six pages are dedicated to Navarre made by companies other than Fostoria and etchings that come close to Navarre. Fostoria's experimental and non-production line items are also discussed. Well-indexed. A must-have book for anyone with a collection of Navarre.
