Open sporadically from 1900 through 1904, the Coudersport Factory bequeathed to collectors glass of a unique beauty and detailed craftsmanship. 350 examples of Coudersport are photographed for the book, including vases, water sets, salt and pepper sets, and paperweights. Art, milk, vaseline and opalescent glass are highlights, and patterns include Trailing Vine, Three Fingers & Panel, Basketweave, and Shadow. The idea for a Coudersport book was the brainchild of the late Bill Heacock, renowned glass researcher and collector. Twelve years after his initial contact with Majot, it has come to fruition. Shake your head at the misfortunes that seemed to cloud Coudersport's success, from economic troubles that caused the company to change hands (from Webb Patent Tile Co., to Joseph Webb Decorative Glass Co., to The Bastow Glass Co.), to the fire which was the death knell for the company in 1904.
