Chinese artist, Zhu Qizhan, was born in 1892 and passed away at 105 in 1996. His life spanned perhaps the most tumultuous is Chinese history. Firmly entrenched in Chinese and Japanese traditions, his work has slowly absorbed aspects of the Western tradition. Zhu Qizhan's works are very appealing to those less familiar with traditional Chinese art as well as connoisseurs.
This catalog was produced by L.J. Wender, the New York gallery where Zhu Qizhan exhibited every spring for nearly a decade. It was produced for the fifth annual show in May and June 1990, when Zhu Qizhan was approaching his 100th year. The catalog features 24 works, all illustrated in full color on full page plates.
